What compels you to get loaded, then load up all your friends in a sports car and almost kill literally every person you passed on the road tonight, I have no clue, but I do know one thing, Karma was not far behind. I feel sorry for your injured friends but they should've stepped up and stopped you, I wish I could punch you in the fucking face twice, you're lucky you didn't kill anyone. Kids man, someone needs to kick their fucking asses.

What was this car before the crash occurred? An Integra?

Good friend of mine just recently rolled his car while DUIing. This was after he scared the shit out of two of my friends driving them home. He was supposed to be the DD and it's very difficult to tell with this guy whether he's loaded of not.

Driving drunk is such a selfish act. But there is such a small repercussion legally for it. You're probably better off with a DUI on your record than a possession charge.

Small repercussions? Where do you live? Colorado treats DUI offenders worse than many other crimes that are perceived as far worse. I guess it depends where you live, or maybe you just don't know a whole lot about the laws in your area. many states take it extremely seriously, and people that get DUI's are not any different than you and I. It happens far too often. Too many people blur the lines between driving tipsy and driving drunk. Both are wrong, and plenty of states are cracking down, even far past what is even constructive.

Kids? I'd be careful about generalizing such a scathing comment like yours before acknowledging that driving drunk and driving "tipsy" is an epidemic amongst all ages in this country. This mistake is being made by people in every generation. This is a more extreme example certainly, and it sounds like they're all fortunate to have avoided being fatalities, but if you knew the number of people on the roads with you every night that were legally impaired, you'd probably stop driving altogether.. and they're people of no particular age group.

I'm from Boston, famous for bad drivers, but I see crashes like the one depicted far more often in my new (relatively - I've been here a couple years) city: Santa Fe.

Here, when you buy liquor, they don't ask for your license because they're wondering about your age. They ask for it to make sure it hasn't been pulled for drunk driving.

I will never understand what makes people think they can drink and still drive capably. I fully get that it impairs judgment and you might call all of your exes and tell them to suck bags of dicks and not even remember it the next day, but how, how, how, do you ever think that it's a good idea to drive a freaking car in that state...

I am a drinker myself, and I would never. No freaking way. More than one drink, I don't drive.

Just stay home, and say stupid shit if you must, when you're drunk. Don't freaking kill anybody.

I became cranky old guy at 31 when my son was born and if you don't have kids, let me tell you, there's levels of pissed off cranky old man you have yet to experience.

Before he was born I'd be a little "tsk tsk" about someone getting a DWI when they were buzzed and I'd kind of spit out "Stupid Idiots could hurt someone" with a faux half-pissed inflection. After the squid, though, I became militant 9th Circle of Hell pissed off cranky as f**k old man because those f**kers could have run into me and killed my kid.

I mellowed a little bit when he left toddler-hood behind but I'm still zero tolerance when it comes to any alcohol at all before getting behind the wheel.

So, in summary: Being cranky old man about DWI is no biggie and if you don't have kids you have all sorts of unexplored levels of pissed off to experience your cranky old man phase in

I don't care if I'm only planning on having 2 beers over a couple of hours, if I'm meeting up with anyone for a drink I take a cab.

And, yeah, it's overkill, I'll be the first one to admit that it is, and I've had more than a couple of damn near sober cab rides home when I didn't even have a second drink. I don't mind because of the occasional "much drunker than I thought" cab rides home when the "couple of beers" turned into 4 pints, 3 Knob Creek bourbon's up and a Mind Eraser after 2 hours mutated into 4.

Bonus: cabbies are usually funny as hell to talk to

It's NOT overkill.

You literally can't be too careful.

Don't let anyone ever shame you into thinking otherwise.

Hahaha, I'm way beyond the point in my life where I could be shamed into anything, but thanks.

A couple of my buddies give me crap about it from time to time bur only because fresh out of college in my early 20's I drove way too often when I had no business even holding keys much less driving. It's a miracle I made it to 30 alive, really. When my son was born the pendulum swung back in the other direction and has been stuck there ever since.

I've called the police on drunk drivers twice. Once was on Christmas morning around 6 am and there was only me and this truck on the road. Don't know if the cops caught him because I had to turn off. Second time was this past summer. I was picking up some beer and a guy who could barely stand/walk went into the store for some juice or somethin (I listened while he slurred the words to the guy behind the counter). I finished before him but waited to see if he was going to hang out and sober up or drive. He drove and I called the police and followed him at a safe distance. He never sped but he rarely kept it in his lane. He nearly ran off into the grass multiple times and drove around 55 mph on the wrong side of the road and got right just before he hit someone. Cops got him. I gave my statement. I assume he went to jail

I came up behind one last night doing 20 in a 40 in 2 lanes. Once he served to the side I blasted past him just to get caught at a green light Behind someone who was probably to drink to realize the difference between red and green. I also saw someone who overcooked an off ramp and had to be dragged out of the snow bank. I hated everyone last night.

(I'm working on the cranky gut shit, 5 months till 30)
